Seminar “Fiber Laser Technology”

Photonics Science organized an seminar with the topic ”Fiber Laser Technology, Laser Cutting and Welding, Laser Cladding and Laser Hybrid Welding” during 4^th September 2014. The seminar was held at TGI Thai-German Institute with speakers from Reis GmbH & Co. KG Maschinenfabrik and IPG Laser GmbH.

This seminar was the 2^nd of these art which was design to transfer know-how and knowledge about the following topic:

1. Fiber Laser Technology – The latest state-of-the-art laser technology most efficient and zero maintenance with a Live Demo “Fiber optic cable”
2. Laser Cutting and Welding Technology – Laser Cutting and Welding in a 3 dimensional work environment
3. Laser Cladding – The combination of different metal powders and laser power for case hardening, plating, repairs of expensive or heavy parts or for 3D material build-up.
4. Laser Hybrid Welding – This process is the latest developed under the roof of Laser processing which uses a MIG/MAG welding torch plus Laser welding for high speed welding with deep penetration usually 3-5 times faster than traditional welding techniques with lowest heat input for material thicknesses up to 100mm.

This Fiber Laser Seminar series will be continued during mid of year 2015 with the 3^rd seminar of this art.
